Anastasia O’Brien, JD
Vice President Grid Strategy, LUMA Energy ServCo, LLC

As vice president and deputy general counsel, O’Brien leads a team of company attorneys and outside counsel who represent ComEd before regulators, lawmakers and judicial bodies in Illinois and nationally. ComEd is a unit of Chicago-based Exelon Corporation. ComEd delivers electricity to approximately 3.8 million residential and business customers across northern Illinois, or 70 percent of the state’s population.

Prior to joining Exelon in 1999, O’Brien was a partner in Sidley & Austin’s Chicago office, where she provided a wide range of services for energy and telecommunications clients. She worked on AT&T’s divestiture of its Bell operating companies as well as large utility restructuring projects including the $5-billion sale of ComEd’s fossil-fueled electric generating plants and the largest utility asset-backed securitization in U.S. history.

O’Brien serves on the boards of El Valor and the Puerto Rican Arts Alliance and participates in a variety of other community organizations. O’Brien earned a J.D. with high distinction from the John Marshall Law School and a bachelor’s degree with highest distinction in public administration from Roosevelt University.
