COMMUNITY CONCERT SERIES

The Puerto Rican Arts Alliance will host a series of community concerts that are free and open to the public. These concerts will feature local artists offering an array of Latin genre styles including salsa, Latin jazz, Afro-Carribean and Conjunto. Featured performers will showcase their talents including percussion, bass, tenor saxophone and vocals. Guests may bring their own lawn chair and beverages (no outside food or alcohol please). Masks required when entering the building.

The exhibition entitled “La Primera Parada” tells the story of the first group of gays and lesbians who demanded space in the Bud Billiken, Mexican, and Puerto Rican parades.

Reproductions of portraits that defined the face and identity of the Puerto Rican people. Framed and contextualized by images of Puerto Rican natural disasters that in turn brought the people of Puerto Rico together.
