21st Century Community Learning Centers (CCLC)
The Puerto Rican Arts Alliance 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC) Program provides high-quality, hands-on academic and personal enrichment through Reading, Mathematics, Technology, Dance, Music, Art, character education, health & nutrition, and physical activity. Each student’s academic growth is supported through engaging academic, cultural, artistic, and recreational enrichment activities. Illinois State Certified Teachers and professional community artists teach these academic and culturally rich programs with a focus on hands-on projects that have real-world applications - which reinforce and compliment the students’ regular school-day academics. Educational opportunities for adult family members of participating students are also provided!
This program is FREE OF COST to all participants! Eligible participants include students at our Chicago Public School Partner sites. All participating students must comply with the program's mandatory attendance requirements.
Puerto Rican Arts Alliance is pleased to announce that we have been awarded funding from the Illinois State Board of Education to create 21st Century Community Learning Centers (CCLC) at Mary Lyon Elementary School, Wolfgang A. Mozart Elementary School, Ogden International School of Chicago, and Harriet Beecher Stowe Elementary School; which is dedicated to serving over 500 students in our community.

Puerto Rican Arts Alliance Grant
PRAA’S 21st Century program is funded through a generous grant from the Illinois State Board of Education 21st CCLC programs. Through this grant, PRAA is able to provide academic and enrichment opportunities to students with and without disabilities to K-8 students at three program sites, and 9-12 students at one program site. The 2020- 2021 school year marks the first year of this five-year initiative for PRAA and we are excited to continue to grow and continue to spark students’ curiosity for learning.
