"Loiza in Chicago"

PRAA proudly presents its inaugural exhibition at our new cultural center and takes Loiza on a road trip that is FREE and open to the public…Loíza in PRAA Cultural Center: Logan Square, Loiza in Douglas Park and Loiza in South Shore Cultural Center."Loíza in Chicago" is a travelling exhibition that explores the West African and Spanish history of the Vejigante tradition of Puerto Rico. This colorful exhibition features the art making of Caribbean costumes and masks, accompanied by the sounds & rhythms of Afro-Caribbean drums and dances that are central to the annual carnival celebration in the coastal town of Loíza, Puerto Rico.
