PRAA’s goal is to provide heritage-based music and visual arts programming to underserved youth. The Latin Music Project and Studio Arts Program are our core programs. Other programs such as the Exhibition Program, Three Kings Project, and more also offer cultural arts opportunities throughout the year. Our new El Archivo Project seeks to preserve the history of Puerto Ricans in the Midwest through community photographs and oral histories.
From youth music lessons offered through our Latin Music Project to job skills learned through our Studio Arts Program to premier international artists brought to Chicago venues through our National Cuatro and Christmas in July Festivals, the Puerto Rican Arts Alliance uses music and the arts as a vehicle to promote cross-cultural and inter-generational understanding among members of our community and beyond.
This program is partially supported by a grant from the Illinois Arts Council Agency.
